Description
Diana Emerson (Hillary Brooke) is looking for a copy of the Dark Safari, written by explorer Cuddleford. Buzz Johnson (Bud Abbott) overhears Diana say she'll pay $2,500 for a map inside the book. Buzz decides to pass his friend off Stanley Livington (Lou Costello) as a great explorer. With claims they can reproduce the map, the two men agree to accompany her on the expedition. The boys learn the expedition is for diamonds rather than exploration. Stanley cannot reproduce the map, and the two boys bluff their way around the jungle. They discover a trail of diamonds leading to a cannibal village. The cannibals intend to roast and eat them, but in the nick of time, a gorilla rescues them. The gorilla has taken a liking to Stanley after he saved it from a trapper's pit. The boys locate the diamonds and Buzz buries them and then loses them. Fortunately, the gorilla digs them up and hands them over to Stanley. When the story ends you'll be laughing your head off! It is truly Abbott and Costello at their funniest! Extra bonus material: The Colgate Comedy Hour (1954). (133 minutes - 1949/1954 - Black & White - 4:3)
