Chorus girl Ethel "Dynamite" Jackson (Doris Day) was shocked and thrilled that the State Department would ask her to come to Paris and represent the U.S. at a theatrical expo. Trouble is, the invite was meant for Ethel Barrymore... and stuffy envoy S. Winthrop Putnam (Ray Bolger) tasked with clearing up the mess and letting Dynamite down easy, finds himself falling for her instead!
