Product Notes
Colin Baker's first full season as the Sixth Doctor opens with "Attack of the Cybermen," which finds him and Peri (Nicola Bryant) lured back to 1985 Earth-and the London junkyard from 1963's "An Unearthly Child"-where they must keep the cyborgs and a scheming human businessman from destroying the Earth by diverting Halley's Comet. Trapped in the Punishment Dome on a fear-ruled planet, the Doctor and Peri face one of their most deadly adventures yet, in "Vengeance on Varos." Then, In Victorian England, the Doctor has not one, but two fellow "renegade" Time Lords to deal with when he goes up against the Master (Anthony Ainley) and the lovely but lethal Rani (Kate O'Mara), in "The Mark of the Rani." There's twice the adventure in "The Two Doctors," as the Time Lord crosses paths with his second incarnation (Patrick Troughton), as well as some Sontaran warriors and a nasty cook with a taste for humans. Next, deposited by a mysterious "time vortex" on the planet Karfel in the distant future, the Doctor and Peri will have to prevent Karfel's despotic ruler, the Borad, from launching a war of the worlds, in "Timelash." And, in "Revelation of the Daleks," while paying his last respects to a dead friend at a medical facility on the planet Necros, the Doctor and Peri discover that the evil Davros (Terry Molloy)is using dead bodies to build new Daleks!13 episodes on 8 discs. Standard; Soundtrack: English.
