Product Notes

THE ZYDA BLUES REVUE is a New Jersey based band creating a unique blend of New Orleans style Zydeco and Northern Blues/Rock. The album features a mixture of good time, up-tempo songs and heartfelt ballads. From the April 2001 issue of BLUES REVUE magazine: DR.JULES AND THE ZYDA BLUES REVUE'S, The Cure For The Common Blues (self release) combines the accordion and rubboard of a zydeco band with hard rocking blues guitar and the vocals of Jules Bazerman, blues crooner with the aggressive attitude of singers like David Johansen and Joe Cocker. The short run of nine songs showcases an odd but listenable amalgam of styles ; this is southern - fried, fast-tempo blues. Best Cut: 'Food On the Table' where Mike Apfel's honking Accordion sounds like an entire brass band.
