Freddy Cannon was one of the second wave of rock 'n' roll artists to make their mark on the US and UK pop scenes in the late '50s, bringing a more Tin Pan Alley influenced style to the genre. He had a string of hits on both sides of the Atlantic that included some inspired re-workings of vaudeville standards as well as material from the illustrious writing and production team of Frank Slay and Bob Crewe - the latter went on to have huge success with The Four Seasons.
