This is a collection of 'overtures' (and one 'entr' acte) from shows at The Groundling Theater in Hollywood, performed by the house band The G-Notes. The styles are eclectic as are the themes of each changing revue. Larry Treadwell, Greg Kanaga, and Willie Etra with help from Mike Loprete and Probyn Gregory recreate in the studio what comes out of the pit each week to pump up the audience before each show. Individually these musicians have played with Thomas Dolby, Kelly Clarkson, Cyndi Lauper, Brian Wilson, Culture Clash, Bob and David, and The Rolling Stones though this stuff doesn't really sound like any of these artists. They have composed music or songs for 'King Of The Hill', Tracey Ullman, 'A&E's Biography', 'Mr. Show', and many more. Maybe there's a connection somewhere.
