Born in 1931, Jaye P. Morgan began her singing career at high school and made her first records with a foray into the country market in 1952 recording with "Plain Ol' Country Boy" Hank Penny, before signing to the Derby label to make pop records, moving to RCA in 1954. She had a debut No. 3 with her first release "That's All I Want From You" and went on to enjoy a run of nearly 20 hits in the pop charts through to 1962, including duet hits with Perry Como and Eddy Arnold. This excellent-value 60-track 2-CD collection comprises selected A & B sides of her singles on the RCA, Derby, Decca and MGM labels during this era, including some of those duets with Hank Penny, Perry Como and Eddy Arnold. It features 16 solo chart entries, including the Top 10 hits "That's All I Want From You" and "The Longest Walk", and the Top 20 hits "Danger! Heartbreak Ahead", "If You Don't Want My Love" and "Pepper-Hot Baby", plus her Top 20 hits with Perry Como, "Chee Chee O-Chee (Sang The Little Bird)" and "Two Lost Souls", and her hit with Eddy Arnold "Mutual Admiration Society". It's a fairly comprehensive overview of her career as a chart artist, comprising a significant proportion of the recordings from her 40-odd singles during these years, and provides an entertaining showcase for her versatile talent.
