Summary

A high-stakes online game of dares turns deadly in this chilling YA thriller—soon to be a major motion picture starring Emma Roberts and Dave Franco!

When Vee is picked to be a player in an online game of dares called Nerve, it isn’t long before she’s caught up in the thrill. The game knows her, tempting her to riskier dares with prizes taken from her ThisIsMe page. When Nerve teams her up with sizzling-hot Ian, it’s even easier for Vee to agree to another dare. And another. And another. As she rises through the ranks, winning tailor-made prizes, the Watchers cheer her on to higher-stakes dares—with dangerous consequences. The game takes a twisted turn when Vee and Ian are taken to a secret location with five other players for the Grand Finale round, playing for prizes they can’t refuse, possibly to the death. Who is behind the warped game, and how do they know so much about the players? And just how far will Vee go before she loses Nerve?

About the Author

Before writing young adult fiction, Jeanne worked in a variety of settings, including wargame simulation (think TRON) and deliquency research (think JERSEY SHORE). She wanted to explore the notion of privacy in an age group where it doesn’t seem to hold much weight, aned was inspired by her niece’s active virtual social life. She has a PhD in Social Welfare, and this is her debut novel. She is also the author of CHARISMA.
