My earlier influences were and still are Memphis artists - Rufus, Carla Thomas, Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, B.B. King, Elvis Presley, Al Green etc. . . . Later, I discovered and developed a love for Ella, Aretha, Sarah Vaughn, Billie Holiday, Diana Washington and Marilyn Monroe, Sinatra, Smokey Robinson, Patsy Cline and Patty LaBelle. Now, my likes extent to Beyonce', Rihanna Lady Gaga and beyond. I love writing, performing, listening to and playing many types of music. "Movin' In The Right Direction", contains original tunes, Soul, Gospel, Jazz, Country, Reggae and Hip Hop. Theatre is another love, so I added a show tune in the mix, just for fun. I wrote and co-wrote the lyrics to nine cuts on this CD. Then I chose five covers that always find their way into my shows and people seem to love 'em too. So, please relax, unwind and take a cruise with me, while I keep us, "Movin' In The Right Direction"!!!! Holla'
