Product Notes
Initially active between the 80s and 90s, Nuova Era released four albums in that first phase of their career that are still considered unmissable for progressive rock fans from Italy... and not only! Returning after several years with an album completely sung in English (Return to the Castle, 2016, AMS187CD), Nuova Era have further 'sharpened the blades' for the creation of what is perhaps their most ambitious album ever, once again sung in their native language. "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea", in fact, openly inspired by the literary masterpiece of the same name by Jules Verne, is made up of a single long suite of almost 40 minutes - divided into two acts in the LP version - which constitutes a sort of summary of everything that has always represented Italian progressive rock, a musical genre often used to describe the complexity and variety of the human soul, thanks to continuous and unpredictable harmonic, rhythmic and melodic changes, all intimately linked by a single common thread. Were it not for some more 'current' ideas of electric guitar and keyboards, "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" could easily be mistaken for one of the great symphonic prog albums released in the early 70s! This version in CD digipack format also contains another long piece composed by keyboardist Walter Pini when he was only 17 years old and which has remained unreleased until now, "Nautilus", which not by chance bears the same name as Captain Nemo's legendary submarine. A return as unexpected as it is surprising with a truly unmissable album!
