Alumni and current guitarist of "The Dead" and "Phil Lesh and Friends," Jimmy Herring, bassist Ricky Keller and drummer Jeff Sipe (Susan Tedeschi, Jonas Hellborg), this edition of Project Z is augmented by keyboardist Jason Crosby (Robert Randolph) and alto saxophonist Greg Osby (M-Base co-founder and talent scout for Blue Note Records). They play it strictly in-the-moment with a no-hold's-barred approach that shifts from Boppish Swing to Slash 'n burn, from dense Noise-Thrash Freakouts to fragile, Zen-like moments of silence.
