Solid Gold Easy Action / Xmas Riff-Born To Boogie - Picture Disc 7-Inch Vinyl [Import](Picture Disc Vinyl, United Kingdom - Import)
Product Notes
Following the success of Demon Records' highly-collectable 7" picture disc releases of T. Rex's 1973 singles, we now turn to the 1972 singles, again featuring photos from the Keith Morris archive. • The fourth release is the yet another classic, "Solid Gold Easy Action", originally released in December 1972, these days amongst Marc Bolan's best remembered songs. After some weeks at number 3, it peaked in the UK charts at number 2, where it stayed for one week (spending eleven weeks in the charts in total), while Little Jimmy Osmond's "Long Haired Lover From Liverpool" remained at number 1. • The song has been covered by Department S, Kim Wilde, and The Fratellis. • In common with "Children Of The Revolution", "Solid Gold Easy Action" was a standalone single, and did not appear on the "Tanx" album in 1973. "Xmas Riff" was exclusive to the B-side, as was the version of "Born To Boogie", which is different to the version on "Tanx".
