Product Notes

Jeff Leiker, the composer of the music and lead vocalist, was born and raised in the same section of Los Angeles, California that delivered Van Halen and World War II general George S. Patton, the San Gabriel Valley. He found himself living a Southern California lifestyle of the late 1970's and 1980's that included surfing and writing and playing rock music. His all-original bands included The Jaded, Chrome Johnny and Pandemonium, which gigged all over L.A. in the vibrant club scene during this period of time. Despite the fact that The Jaded was attracting industry interest, upon their collapse he found himself nearly starving and he decided to try a career as a computer programmer. Well-fed and with money in his pocket he met his future wife and stopped gigging. Marriage and several children followed, delaying his return to performing live, although he continued to compose music. A corporate transfer in the mid-1990's brought him to the Dallas, Texas area. Leiker immersed himself in classical music and opera for a ten-year period and was eager to incorporate the knowledge he had gained from his college music degree into the direction he wanted to follow, if he only he could secure the time and the money.... The advances in affordable computer recording technology and the good fortune of finding himself randomly sitting next to Phillip France in a programmer cube farm in Dallas in late 2004 found him primed to record his first album. This first Temporary Flesh album was recorded over a nine-month period with four of the seven songs written during the recording period. Phil played guitar and bass and engineered this album. Elizabeth France sings background vocals. They both own Envision Productions, a 24 track recording studio based in Denton, Texas. Phil had an album out in the early 1990's called Phil France. He also plays keyboards, flute and sings, and is a session musician. Elizabeth is an accomplished vocalist, plays keyboards and also does session work. Ken Poland has been playing drums since he was nine years old. He currently plays in bands XES Whiskey, Temporary Flesh and String Theory and does frequent session work. Ken plays approximately 170 shows a year. Temporary Flesh has performed live in a few casual gigs in the Denton and Dallas areas and is currently booking club engagements around these same areas. Ken, Phil and Elizabeth also play in the band String Theory, whose CD will be released on CDBaby in the near future.
